One Million Yen Girl
(Hyakuman-en to nigamushi onna)

Suzuko is 21 and moves out of her parents home. After a couple of unfortunate circumstances she has to serve a jail sentence and returns home as the ex-con-daughter. She saves one million yen to move out, finds a place to work and again saves a million yen to move on. However, Suzuko realizes that she cannot keep running forever from the people who love her.

About the director: Yuki TANADA, born in 1975, showed her exceptional talent when her first film won the Grand Prize at the PIA Film Festival. In 2006 she wrote the screenplay for Mika NINAGAWA's SAKURAN. For the third time now one of her movies will be shown at NIPPON CONNECTION.
