Come and celebrate with us the 10th anniversary of the japanese film festival Nippon Connection!
From April 14 to 18, 2010, Nippon Connection in Frankfurt/Main will present exciting and creative cinema from Japan for what is now the 10th time. With more than 150 current Japanese feature and short films, Nippon Connection again showcases a wide variety of avant-garde films, anime and blockbusters as well as documentaries, in many cases with the filmmaker in attendance.
NIPPON CINEMA offers an overview of current cinema productions. The Nippon Cinema Award – an audience award – for the best Japanese film is endowed with 2,000 Euros and funded by Bankhaus Metzler.
NIPPON DIGITAL presents animation, short films and documentaries as well as digitally produced films and has long since become an international insider’s tip for everyone out to discover something new. This year, a jury will hand out the Nippon Digital Award for the first time.
NIPPON RETRO shows highlights from previous festival years in collaboration with Mal Sehn Kino.
NIPPON CULTURE invites you to enjoy different aspects of Japanese culture.
With NIPPON CONNECTION FILM FESTIVAL ON TOUR a selection of films from the Nippon Digital program will once again travel to different cities in the world.
NIPPON CONNECTION is the largest festival for Japanese cinema in the world and exists solely because of the extraordinary and voluntary commitment of the festival team and many dedicated helpers. We thank our cooperation partners, sponsors and supporters without whom realizing a festival on such a scale would not be possible.
We hope you will enjoy Nippon Connection 2010!
